easter weekend

This weekend felt extremely long. Of course it was afour day weekend, but I mean it felt longer than four days, and it was really quite a nice time off, mostly relaxing. On A's birthday we had our friend B come over. We hung out, went for a nice walk, washed her car, had supper and as birthday dessert we had dairy queen ice cream. We rented a movie calle Ghost Town, which I really enjoyed and then we played rockband.
Saturday was our 6 month wedding anniversary. We celebrated by eating some of our left over wedding cake. We had 1.5 cakes left after the reception which we froze. We figured we might as well try to see what it was like, and no word of a lie, best cake ever! The outside was a little dry, so we cut that off, but the inside of the cake was moist and delicious. We started on some garden projects, including raking the back 'lawn'. What was left of the lawn is completely taken over by creeping violet, so we ripped out the entire lawn and reseeded it with new grass seed (we finished that on monday because it was a pretty big job), so hopefully that will take. I also ended up buying a new pair of running shoes that were on sale. I needed some as I have started jogging again and didnt have any good shoes to do it in.
Sunday was family birthday-easter-day. It started with a birthday lunch for A at his parents house, followed by a trip to Hawkesbury to celebrate easter with his family. It was a very nice turkey dinner, and most of us slept on the way home
Yesterday I got to treat myself to some new toys. It all started with my purchase of new the running shoes. I noticed the information brochure in the shoe box about the nike plus monitoring sensor and got intrigued. Turns out you can by a sensor which you can place in your shoe, which connects to your ipod. It will tell how far you have gone, how fast you are going, how many calories you have burned, etc. You can tell it you want to run a certain distance or time and it can even coach you and encourage you. Online you can map out your routes, chart your progress, keep track of all your distances, set goals for yourself, which sounded super cool. I have been wanting to get a smaller ipod to run with for a while. We have an older model, but it is pretty bulky, and its battery isnt what it used to be. Once I read about this gizmo I was sold. A thought it was super neat too, so I went out and bought myself an Ipod Nano along with my nike plus sensor. I am going to try it out for the first time tonight after work and I am really excited about it. I will let you know how that goes.
