Trip trip Trip!!

At the end of the month A and I are going to Vancouver! I am so excited; I have never been and have been curious to see it ever since I came to this country. I can not wait! A has a meeting for work, which is why he is going in the first place, and we decided it would be a perfect opportunity for me to tag along. We are leaving the last Thursday of the month and return in December. I am looking forward to sightseeing and family visiting as A has an aunt and uncle that live out there. I started browsing the Vancouver tourism website for some ideas of things I might like to see, and most of it sounds pretty interesting to me. I love that we can do this kind of stuff now. I love being a dink sometimes.

I found it difficult to prepare for my interview on Friday. Starting with the fact that I had to find two work references and brag about myself on two question sheets which the references than needed to be able to confirm. I found it difficult to decide who to choose for my references, and I found it difficult to answer the questions. I don’t think about my job, I just do it. Anyhow, eventually I felt somewhat prepared, I studied for the interview, references and other materials got finished and printed and fridayafternoon approached.
I met mom for Vietnamese food before hand as my interview was in the area. It was nice to see a familiar face right before the big event, but I may not have been very talkative as I was pretty nervous. The interview went well I think, it is difficult to tell as they don’t really tell you how you did either way, but I think there was a good atmosphere in the room and I think I answered most questions well. I am curious to see how long this stage will take to complete. Either way, it is out of my hands right now. Another experience under my belt. Hopefully things went as well as I am hoping and this will result into getting into the pool. Than the really tricky part of finding a job starts. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming… haha.

We celebrated by eating out again, chinese food this time, and making a big Banana Split, delicious! Food, how I love you.

The rest of the weekend was relaxing and spent mostly around the house. I did some shopping on Saturday, bought winter tires for our car, a new work top and some groceries. I made some food and apple crisp, and decided I wanted to do some crafts. I used to get together with the girls every week to do crafts, mostly knitting, and I have really been missing this. I therefore decided to start a new project, so I picked up some yarn and am making another set of a hat, mits and scarf for my work coats. Maybe I will try to get another group going, because I also miss the social aspect of our weekly get togethers.

hey that's super exciting! I wish I could meet you there, I have been wanting to get down and see what all the fuss is about. I hear the transit is good so you probably have more option than you can even consider :-)

I'm excited for your vacation! T moved to Vancouver and could probably give you good tips. http://quackattack.wordpress.com/

Good work on the interview. They can be such a pain but it sounds like you did well. Don't worry if it takes forever to hear. It's government afterall.
